Eh, the Q8200 is pretty nice tho. I think shylock Clinston needs to go break knee caps and get his paper back and get the Q and the 4850...

Edit: Also if you get a few more ducats you might want to strongly consider getting a 2 or 4gb kit of PC8500 instead of PC6400, especially with the Q8200 since its multiplier is only 7. If you can pump, pump, pump it up! to the max you could do 500x7=3500 but that may take more volts than you can keep chillaxed under a stock cooler.

Now it's 11 tongue.gif

Thanks for the advice, I'll see what I can do. I just realized that I have to pay for my tuition, but that shouldn't be too much. So I guess I'll wait a week to collect money, pay for school and the server, and I'll look at what kind of funds I have to work with. For now, the budget I have seems reasonable, but things might change. I'll have a better idea of what I funds I have access to in a few days.

That's what happened when I built my rig.

I thought I had a tiny budget, but realized I could afford more so I went for it.

And Spore is freaking awesome smile.gif

Alright I'm going to be ordering the computer later on today, so here are the parts that I came up with :

Processor: Intel Q8300 2.5GHz $189

Motherboard: ASuS P5Q P45 Quad Core | 1600 FSB (oc/d) $103

Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon 4830 512mb | 575mhz core 1800mhz memory $100

Ram: 2x Kingston 2GB Ram 1066 $47

That is currently the build I'm looking at. The price of everything including shipping comes to about $456.

Mobo only has 1 pci x16, I still likes the foxconn P45A-S better. Rest looks good. Btw your PSU has a pci-e 6 pin powah? And EPS 12V 4 or 8 pin auxilary power? And 24 pin main power? Or just tell me the model of it, lewl. Or are you getting a new psu and case?

ok, with Wheezy's excellent help, I was able to find a better board for my build:

Foxconn P45 w/ CrossfireX | 1600 FSB (oc/d)

EDIT: Stryker found me a coupon to a 4850 with $20 off. So this is the 4850 I'm getting

Sapphire 4850 | 625mhz core 1986mhz memory

My new total comes to $465, and thats still a nice price for the build (if you ask me)

Ok final list, I promise biggrin.gif

Motherboard: Foxconn P45 Quad Core | 1600 FSB (oc/d) $110

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz 45nm $170

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon 4850 | 625mhz core 1986mhz memory $125 (thanks to stryker wink.gif )

RAM: Two sticks of Kingston HyperX 2GB DDR2 1066 (PC 8500) $47

Power Supply: CoolMax 500W <- I don't have to pay for this one because my brother has a broken one. He said that if I pay for it to be RMA'd then I could have it. It's still covered under NewEgg's replacement policy so I should be able to exchange it.

Grand total comes to $452 before shipping, and $467 with it. Hopefully they should be sending out my order tomorrow, because I cant wait to get this computer, its going to be so beast biggrin.gif

I'll be taking pictures of the parts n stuff when I get it. Since my case has a see through window I might be going down to Directron.com (located near me) and picking up some cathodes, case fans, and other lighting related goodies.

Nice build smile.gif

I'm thinking it will look awesome with the lights.

I want to get a window installed in my 300 (probably from mnpctech.com for $40 incl. shipping, but I have to send them my panel), add a UV cold cathode (or a UV LED side panel fan if I can get the window cut with a fan mount) to make the IceQ4 fan shroud glow like in the pic below, and some blue LED case fans (and maybe blue cathodes also).

Lewl, cathodes and LEDs... as my computer sits in the barren shell of an old case with crap laying on it...

As for Clintoniums build, you haters can kiss my ass, Foxconn is the worlds largest manufacturer of electronics components and like #3 overall in motherboards, and sapphire is the worlds largest manufacturer of ATI video cards.

Add some LEDs to it to make it bling tongue.gif

As for the second part, what prompted that?

And am I doinitrite on my overclock?

Funny you should say that, 2 of my 3 fans on my radiator were the LED antecs and i ripped the LED wires off cuz they annoyed me. I still have the ballistix tracers with the little ground effects lighting and the activity lights, the bottom lighting is cool but the activity lights are annoying. I'm not real big on LEDs or cathodes. I'm all about putting down the power...

Sapphire comment was directed at Sipek, the Foxconn was a generality before some assclown comes out of the woodwork and says ZOMG why'd you get a Foxconn board. Cuz some people have no idea who the eff Foxconn is, even though they're a HUUUUUGE company. Kinda like buying a subaru car though, subaru is kind of a small car maker, but they're owned by Fuji Heavy Industries that is one of the largest manufacturing companies on the planet.

And yes you appear to be doinitrite. You still working on it? 3.8's good but most E8500s can do moar.

I know mine can go farther, I'm just hesitant on doing so right now (3.8 gets me at about P71xx on Vantage). Before I do anymore I want to redo the wiring in my case and probably reseat my HSF. I have a piece of paper right next to my monitor with the suggested settings to get it to 4GHz

I wonder how hard Clinton can push his (aftermarket or stock cooler?). Also good luck on getting one that doesn't have major sensor issues.

I think somebody on DZ dissed the Foxconn boards when I was working on my build.
